Héctor Cervantes is a founding partner of the law firm of Sánchez, Cervantes y Asociados. He has been practicing law since 1982, after graduating with the highest honors from the Law School of the Autonomous University of Baja California. His practice includes advice and representation of clients in matters of civil, commercial, banking, trusts, international and labor law, and in litigation before local and federal courts.
In addition to his experience of several years as a trial attorney, Mr. Cervantes has also served as Chief Legal Counsel for federal matters, City Council member and deputy Mayor for the City of Tijuana, and as Chief Regional Legal Counsel and Director of the Trusts Department of Banco Santander Serfín (formerly Banco Mexicano), as well as Legal Counsel of the same bank's stock brokerage arm, where in addition to supervising several external law firms in the collection of loans, he advised the bank on the legal aspects of the bank's lending, collecting and financing operations, practices and policies.
A recipient of a Honorable Mention for academic excellence as the top student of his class, Mr. Cervantes was also awarded membership to the group "México's Best Students", personally handed by the President of México. Mr. Cervantes is fully bilingual in Spanish and English.
